Digital Media Students Participate in the 2013 'Hour of Code' Project

The 'Hour of Code' provides an opportunity for students to code in a world-wide event. Lincoln Digital Media Grade Six students will participate by starting approximately 25 hours of Computer Science lessons designed to teach basic skills in coding and and introduce what a Computer Scientist does.

California is one of 45 states nationwide to adopt the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in English/Language Arts and mathematics. This shift in teaching has been characterized by some as “the most significant change to classroom instruction since 1998,” when California first adopted its own academic standards. Annual Report of OUSD Bond Construction Projects
Since the passing of Proposition H in June 2008, the Oceanside Unified School District has used funds from the $195 million bond measure to rebuild seven new schools, as well as refurbish the athletic facilities of the district’s two comprehensive high schools.
